While it is specific to Orange\u00a0County, the helpful tips are applicable to residents across all of Florida.<\/em><\/p>\n<h1 class=\"single-page-title\">Hurricane Irma Debris Removal Information<\/h1>\n<p>As Orange County continues recovery efforts after Hurricane Irma, it is important for residents to be informed on debris removal.<\/p>\n<p><strong>CITIZEN DROP-OFF SITES<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Residents are encouraged to take debris to a citizen site designated by Orange County.\u00a0Those locations can be found at\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ocfl.net\/debris\">www.ocfl.net\/debris<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Ten (10) citizen drop-off sites were opened by Orange County on Wednesday, September 13, 2017.\u00a0 Residents of Orange County may bring vegetative (trees\/yard waste) debris to any locations from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Sunday. Residents will need to provide proof of Orange County address to gain access. Debris drop-off sites are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Barnett Park \u2013 4801 W Colonial Dr.<\/li>\n<li>Conway Water Treatment Plant \u2013 3590 Manatee St.<\/li>\n<li>Cypress Grove Park \u2013 290 Holden Ave.<\/li>\n<li>Fort Christmas Park -1300 Fort Christmas Rd.<\/li>\n<li>Harrell Road \u2013 8503 Trevarthon Rd.<\/li>\n<li>Meadowoods Park \u2013 1751 Rhode Island Woods Cir.<\/li>\n<li>Northwest Water Reclamation Facility \u2013 701 W McCormick Rd.<\/li>\n<li>Rose Place Park \u2013 8200 Old Winter Garden Rd.<\/li>\n<li>Across from Renaissance Senior Center \u2013 3800 S. Econlockhatchee Trl.<\/li>\n<li>West Beach Park Addition \u2013 9227 Winter Garden Vineland Rd.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/newsroom.ocfl.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/Debris-Map-Citizens-20170913.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-9282\" src=\"https:\/\/newsroom.ocfl.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/Debris-Map-Citizens-20170913.png\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 5100px) 100vw, 5100px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/newsroom.ocfl.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/Debris-Map-Citizens-20170913.png 5100w, https:\/\/newsroom.ocfl.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/Debris-Map-Citizens-20170913-300x194.png 300w, https:\/\/newsroom.ocfl.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/Debris-Map-Citizens-20170913-768x497.png 768w, https:\/\/newsroom.ocfl.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/Debris-Map-Citizens-20170913-1024x663.png 1024w, https:\/\/newsroom.ocfl.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/Debris-Map-Citizens-20170913-600x388.png 600w, https:\/\/newsroom.ocfl.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/Debris-Map-Citizens-20170913-785x508.png 785w\" alt=\"\" width=\"5100\" height=\"3300\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>CURBSIDE DEBRIS REMOVAL<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Curbside debris removal has already started in Orange County.\u00a0 However, the volume of yard debris throughout the county is very large, so please keep in mind that it may be several days before a debris team arrives in your community.\u00a0 It is the county\u2019s intent to serve the community in a well-organized manner.<\/p>\n<p><strong>NO MIXED DEBRIS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In either case, vegetative storm debris (tree limbs, branches, and other organic debris) should always be separated from storm-related construction debris (shingles, fencing, lumber, drywall, etc.)\u00a0 Mixed debris will not be accepted at Drop-Off Sites, and for curbside removal, construction debris will be collected separately, and if not separated, neither may be picked up.\u00a0 Also, household garbage should NEVER be mixed with storm or construction debris.<\/p>\n<p><strong>PRIVATE GATED COMMUNITIES<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>County contractors cannot enter private gated communities for debris removal, except in cases of critical life\/safety emergencies.\u00a0 For gated communities, an authorized community representative should contact 311 to arrange for permission for the community\u2019s contractor to drop off debris at a designated Citizen Drop-Off Site.\u00a0 In the alternative, the community representative can arrange for a County debris contractor to meet the community\u2019s contractor at or near the entrance to the gated community, to accept debris.<\/p>\n<p>If residents within a community do not own the property, such as a trailer park, manufactured home community or condominium building, the community is not eligible to participate in this program. These communities are considered commercial and must arrange for their own debris removal.<\/p>\n<p><strong>PRIVATE PROPERTY<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Debris will only be removed from private property only in the case of severe damage, per the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.fema.gov\/\">Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA)<\/a>\u00a0policy.
